After the success of its first smartphone, the YU Yureka, the brand brought its second offering with better features and an appealing design. The phone runs Android Lollipop-based CyanogenMod 12 OS out of the box. The device competes against the several budget Android Lollipop devices in the country. The Intex Aqua Power Plus holds a good competition with the Yuphoria. Even though it lacks 4G LTE connectivity, the device runs Android Lollipop out of the box and has a solid battery life.

As for the configuration, the Intex Aqua Power Plus has a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, further supported by 2GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable memory. The YU Yuphoria is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 64-bit computing on board. The device houses 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable memory. Overall, in the configuration segment, the Yuphoria is clearly a winner.


For imaging, the Aqua Power Plus offers a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The Yuphoria on the other hand has an 8-megapixel autofocus rear shooter with an LED flash, and a 5MP front camera. In terms of photography, both smartphones deliver similar experience.

Connectivity and Battery

The YU Yuphoria is a budget-priced 4G LTE-enabled smartphone that supports India’s current LTE band 40. Other than that, the rest of connectivity options of the Intex Aqua Power Plus and Yuphoria are similar including dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. In terms of power, the Intex Aqua Power Plus wins over the Yuphoria with its mammoth 4,000mAh battery, while the Yuphoria only offers a 2,330mAh unit.


The Intex Aqua Power Plus a decent Android Lollipop-powered smartphone for Rs 8,999, as it offers an HD display, a quad-core processor, sound internal memory, and a beefy battery that ensures long lasting usage. However, the YU Yuphoria is a future ready smartphone offering higher internal storage and 4G LTE connectivity at much lower price tag of just Rs 6,999.
